About
Hello! My name is Lydia Bartels and I’m a graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program at Fanshawe College, with a passion for creating thoughtful and engaging interior spaces. My interest in design started at a young age, when I would constantly sketch floor plans of my own bedroom and rearrange the layout to see how I could make it feel more functional and visually appealing. I’ve always loved organization and art, so discovering interior design felt like a natural way to bring those interests together.
What draws me most to interior design is the creativity and variety that each project offers. I especially enjoy material selection and rendering, where I can bring ideas to life and focus on the details, such as colour coordination, texture, and how everything comes together as a whole. I like designing spaces that not only look good but also feel intentional and work well for the people using them.
I have an interest in both residential and commercial design, and I enjoy the challenge of creating spaces that are functional, cohesive, and meaningful. As I begin my career, I’m excited to continue learning more about sustainable and evidence-based design, and to be part of projects that have a positive impact on people and their communities.
I’m always looking to grow, both creatively and technically, and I take pride in my attention to detail and strong design skills. My goal is to create spaces that feel inspiring, balanced, and thoughtfully designed. As I begin my career, I hope to continue expanding my knowledge of sustainable design and be involved in making an impact in society. I strive for excellence in my pursuit of design technology.
